Autumn 2014

It's an autumn of firsts. After one of the best festival seasons I can remember it's full steam ahead into The UFQ's autumn tour - our first with the full new lineup. We've got a nice mix of rural touring and city gigs and I'm particularly excited about our first visit to Birmingham's MAC, which will also be our first hometown gig in a year.

After the autumn tour I'll be doing something a bit new for me - a two month run at The Rep Theatre in Birmingham. The show is a new production of everybody's favourite kids' book, The BFG, with music written by my buddy and ex-UFQer Frank Moon. The show runs from 26th November until 24th January, two shows a day, six days a week and looks set to be quite the spectacle!

Alongside all of this, UFQ are back in the studio for a new album which is set to be the most conventional "studio album" we've made so far, as opposed to the "live in the studio" approach we've taken before. It's really exciting to be looking at the material in a different way and tinkering with all the production possibilities this sort of approach lends to the process. More news as it appears.
